The Magic's in the Make-Up

While visiting my hometown on Long Island, I accompanied make-up artist Melissa Gaglio to a sugary sweet photo/video shoot featuring Ashley Spedale, model, make-up artist and owner of Glittle Cupcakes.

We arrived at the studio of Jessica Rispoli of Rock The Dress Photography and I observed as Melissa worked her make-up magic. Her ultra-glam aesthetic was just right – hot pink lips, porcelain skin and lots and lots of gold glittah. On the eyes, she used a technique from the 1960s called “cut crease,” which uses a defined line on the lid and is then blended upwards.  GORGEOUS!

Rock the Dress Photography started with the idea that brides ought to have another chance to “rock their dresses,” so to speak, in a stress-free, all-about-them photo shoot in any setting or theme they fancy. But Jessica’s work is so much more than just bridal – with her original, cutting-edge style and flawless art direction, she transforms all sorts of clients into the models of their dreams.
